The United Way of Moore County surpassed its $540,000 fundraising goal this year.

Campaign Chair Audrey Gibson announced the campaign results at the Allocation Meeting held Thursday, January 13, 2022. This year’s campaign goal was $540,000 and the pledge total was $583,000.

“Today’s number was a surprise, we didn’t know if we would reach our goal of $540,000”, said Campaign Chair Gibson. “For us to reach this number says more about the citizens of Moore County than anything else”.

This goal was achieved with the help of campaign volunteer workers, workplace leaders, and citizens of Moore County who gave.

“It means everything for our community,” said United Way of Moore County Executive Director Jackie Wiswell. “Our campaign makes a difference in services provided by the 19 local partner agencies. We’re extremely grateful for where we are and it means we get to continue the great work that we do.”

Wiswell said this year’s Campaign Chair, Audrey Gibson, went above and beyond the call of duty by adding campaign-related tasks to her already full schedule.

The United Way’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good.

Money from this campaign goes to help 19 local agencies in Moore County.
