Local Media and Dumas Chamber to Host 2022 Candidate Forum at Dumas High School

Candidates responding at the Moore County 2020 Election Forum: "How many of you live within the 13th congressional district and have done so for at least one year?"

DUMAS, TX – The Dumas/Moore County Chamber of Commerce, BlueCloud.TV, KDDD Radio, the Moore County Journal and the Moore County News-Press are teaming up to conduct the 2022 Candidates’ Forum.

This event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Dumas High School auditorium (300 S. KleinAve.). Admission is free.

The forum will feature candidates running for the following offices:

  • Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace,
  • Moore County Commissioner, Precinct 2,
  • Moore County Commissioner, Precinct 4,
  • Moore County Judge, and
  • Texas State Senate District 31.

The moderator for the 2022 Candidates’ Forum will be KDDD Morning Host “Gentleman” Jim McCarty. The forum will feature questions prepared by local media outlets, as well as questions submitted by audience members.

The forum will also be streamed live at www.bluecloud.tv. The Chamber of Commerce, KDDD, the Journal and the News-Press will also be sharing the live stream on their Facebook pages. In addition, KDDD will be doing a live audio broadcast.

Viewers who are unable to attend may interact with any of the aforementioned Facebook pages to submit their questions for consideration.

This is the second time (the first being in 2020) for the Chamber and local media outlets to join forces to conduct a candidates’ forum. Each entity understands the importance of both the state and local races on the March Primary ballot and want to make sure our voting public has all the information necessary to make an educated decision at the polls.

Early voting in the March Primary election begins Monday, Feb. 14. Election day is Tuesday, March 1. Those not already registered to vote must do so by January 31, 2022, to be eligible to vote in the March Primary election.
