“We know a lot of our customers have been working really hard to make ends meet as they deal with higher prices for food, fuel and household energy,” said Jesse Shuffield, Xcel Energy Community Relations in the surrounding area.

“One way we can help is by giving customers tools to make their homes more efficient, and LED’s are proven to help lower utility bills,” Shuffield said.

Locally in Moore County, United Way of Moore County gave half of what they received to Moore County Senior Citizens and half of the LED’s went to Dumas area Meals on Wheels to disburse to their clients.

Customers wishing to purchase LED’s can take advantage of Xcel Energy discounts of up to $3 per package at partner retailers. The discounted bulbs are sold on shelves marked with an Xcel Energy discount sticker. A list of participating retailers can be found at xcelenergy.com/lightingdeals.
