Twenty-Five Demonette Powerlifters Headed to Regional Meet in Monahans

MONAHANS, TX – The Dumas Demonettes will have 25 regional qualifiers competing at the Regionals Powerlifting Meet Friday and Saturday at the Ward County Events Center. The top powerlifters will advance to the State Meet on March 18-19 in Corpus Christi.

Journee Mekdara and Natalie Vera will represent Dumas in the 97-pound weight class, while the trio of Mia Reynaga, Jocelyn Ovalle, and Ariyana Gomez will be competing in the 105-pound division.

Andrea Bedoy is the lone Demonette in the 114-pound weight class, and five Dumas powerlifters – Vanessa Martinez, Emilie Rios, America Arenivar, Adi Farni, and Emily Rubio — will be competing in the 123-pound division.

Denisia Garcia and Guadalupe Mendoza will represent Dumas in the 132-pound weight class, while Aliah Jenkins and Libby Weatherford will compete in the 148-pound division.

The Demonettes competing in the 165-pound weight class include Marlene Rodriguez, Emily Pelayo, and Xaida Mendoza. Angel Sanchez will be the lone Dumas powerlifter in the 181-pound division.

Hayley Vecchio and Naomi Dawson will compete in the 198-pound weight class, while Brianna Bustamante and Hayvan Flores will represent the Demonettes in the 220-pound division.

Neveah Montes and Ana Rivera will be competing in the 259-pound weight class and 259+-pound division, respectively.

Demons Powerlifting Regional Qualifiers 

MONAHANS, TX – The Dumas Demons will have 14 regional qualifiers competing at the Regionals Powerlifting Meet on March 8 at the Ward County Events Center. The top powerlifters will advance to the State Meet on March 25-26 in Abilene.

Jose Zamora will represent Dumas in the 114-pound weight class while Jonathan Jaso and Jose Chavira will be competing in the 132-pound division.

In the 148-pound weight class, Jess Philley and Carlos Parra will be looking to advance to the state competition, while James Bednorz will be representing the Demons in the 165-pound division.

Sabien Perry and Yahir Mendoza will be competing in the 181-pound weight class, and Dalton Leven will compete in the 198-pound division.

Arnoldo Hernandez and Angel Quiroz will represent Dumas in the 220-pound weight class, while Hector Pando (275-pounds) and Lucas Martinez (Super Heavyweight) both have their sights set on qualifying for the state meet.
