Thursday morning around 12:30 a.m. a pedestrian, Jerry Rodriguez of Dumas, was struck and killed when he crossed the roadway in front of a 2004 Peterbuilt semi truck according to a preliminary crash report from the Texas DPS.
The DPS report says that Rodriquez failed to yield right of way to the southbound semi truck while crossing US 87, on foot, about 5 miles south of Dumas.
Rodriguez was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace, Barbara Mulanax.
