The Moore County Journal held auditions for Moore County’s first community talent show contest on April 3rd at the Evelyn Theatre in downtown Dumas. Audition entries for the contest ranged from singers, songwriters, dancers, musicians, and other categories.

Local judges scored the auditioners and the top ten performances were selected to continue on to the live performance round which is set for April 23, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at the Evelyn Theatre in downtown Dumas.

“I wanted to create a local event that would showcase some top talent from our area. I think Moore County is filled with some amazingly talented people. The Moore County Journal is locally owned and I decided to work with the Evelyn Theatre to present the 1st annual ‘Moore Talent Show’ where 10 local performers will compete, on stage, in front of local judges and a live audience.” says Raymond Brady, publisher/owner of The Moore County Journal.

Local judges will be on hand during the live talent show on April 23rd to score each performance. The top three performances will win cash prizes. First place: $1,000 prize, second place: $500 prize, and third place: $250 prize. The live show will be open to the public and tickets will be available for purchase at the Evelyn Theatre.
