Kathy Trayler, 71 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Monday, September 27, 2021, at HIS Church with Pastor Frank Gordoa, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 4 o’clock to 6 o’clock in the evening on Sunday at the funeral home.
Kathy was born on March 31, 1950, in Canyon, TX to Lloyd and Ladell (Backus) Bonds. She married Duane Trayler on March 15, 1971, in Dumas, TX. Kathy was the founder of Feeding Dumas where they fed and helped countless families during Thanksgiving and throughout the year. She dedicated her life to the community and to serving others as well as taking care of her family when they were sick. Kathy was involved with multiple organizations, each one of them was near and dear to her heart, such as Meals on Wheels, Home Health and Hospice. Kathy met a great deal of people along the way, she loved them all dearly. She was a very selfless, giving person; she had a servant’s heart. Kathy was a member of HIS Church and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: George and Melvin.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Duane, of the home; daughter: Stacy Mathews of Dumas, TX; son: Jody Trayler and wife Amber of Wildorado, TX; sister: Flora Hardy and husband Richard of Keenesburg, CO; grandchildren: Bethany Flores and husband Milo of Dumas, TX, Cole Mathews of Dumas, TX, Hanna Mathews of Dumas, TX, Brooke Trayler of Wildorado, TX and Kasen Trayler of Wildorado, TX; great-grandchildren: Lennox, Bella, M.J., Ivy, and Octavia.
