SHAMROCK, TX – Two semi-trucks collided Thursday night approximately three miles north of Shamrock on US 83 resulting in one fatality.
Around 9:45 p.m. a 2017 Volvo semi-truck towing a semi-trailer was traveling north on US 83 while another semi-truck towing a semi-trailer was traveling south on US 83. Texas DPS says the driver of the Volvo failed to drive in a single lane and crossed over into the southbound lane of travel and struck the southbound semi-truck on the driver’s side.
According to the Texas DPS, there was extensive damage to both vehicles and semi-trailers. The DPS noted that they were unable to determine the make and model of the southbound semi-truck due to the extensive damage.
Bradley Hedger, 60, of Loveland, Colorado died on the scene and was pronounced deceased by Wheeler County Justice of the Peace, Rick Walden. The driver of the Volvo and a passenger were transported to the hospital in Shamrock with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
