At the time of publishing this article, all future UIL events have been suspended until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, in early March before the UIL suspended events, Dumas High School Theatre and Speech students competed in district competition and performed very well.
Casandra Jones and Carolina Rojas have advanced to UIL state competition for their costume design entries. Only 28 students were chosen for costume design from all 1A-4A High Schools in the state.

The Dumas High Varsity Theatre Dramatic Demons UIL One-Act Play is advancing to Bi-District as District Champions. The team received the following District Awards:
- Outstanding Makeup
- Outstanding Technical Crew (3rd year in a row)
- Arthur Williams Honorable ALL-STAR Cast
- Annie Akins ALL-STAR Cast
- Alex Gonzalez ALL-STAR Cast
- Daniel Chavez BEST PERFORMER

Congratulations to these students and staff for a job well done! As UIL schedules open back up we will help keep you updated on future district and state competitions.
