The Dumas Demons earned a hard fought bi-district championship on Friday night against Lake Worth in Vernon.
At halftime, the Demons trailed Lake Worth 27-7 after a rough first half. Dumas took the opening kick in the second half and had three straight runs from Bryan Mendoza taking the score to 27-14.
A 21 yard field goal from Ah Lee Yart brought the score to 27-17, Dumas trailing by 10 points.
Victor Chavez made a 71 yard run and scored a touchdown to make the score 27-23.
Bryan Mendoza brought the Demons into the lead with 49 seconds left in the 3rd quarter making the score 30-27.
With 11:56 left in the game Lois Ortiz intercepted a Lake Worth pass which was followed up by a third touchdown by Bryan Mendoza, bringing the score to 37-27.
