Chamber of Commerce Hosts Downtown 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The Dumas/Moore County Chamber of Commerce hosted a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Saturday morning at 10:45 a.m. The event took place at the intersection of 7th and Bliss Avenue across from the courthouse.

The Dumas Fire Department had an American flag draped from their ladder truck and area police, sheriff, fire, and EMS personnel attended the event.

Moore County Judge Rowdy Rhoades made a few remarks at the ceremony, the local VFW presented the colors, and local students assisted with the ceremony.

After the ceremony City of Dumas Mayor Bob Brinkmann and Moore County Judge Rowdy Rhoades laid a wreath on the courthouse lawn near 13 flags honoring those who have been recently killed in Afghanistan.
