DUMAS, TX – The 2022 Moore County stock show will take place this week at the Community Building in Dumas. The annual event brings local FFA and 4-H students together to show off their project animals.

Local students have worked countless early morning hours and late evenings over several months time to take care of their show animals in hopes to take that Grand Champion belt buckle home.

Kaden Viner, who was the 2021 student stock show columnist for the Moore County Journal says, “These kids grow attached to the projects like a pet. From feeding and walking to bathing and sheering, knowing that the end will be to say goodbye as the animals load the truck. All the time and effort that has been put into their projects for just a few minutes in the show ring is all it takes to make it all worthwhile.”
