The Dumas Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting Sunday that resulted in the death of a man and left a woman with serious injuries.
Chief Jim Nelson reported that the man was pronounced dead upon arrival at Memorial Hospital, and an autopsy is being performed. The woman is in intensive care at an Amarillo hospital.
Nelson said that since the investigation is ongoing, no further information can be released at this time. Until the man’s family is notified of the death, his name can’t be released. Nelson said the man and woman aren’t local.
