Dumas Police Arrest Two, Seize 8 Pounds of Marijuana During Traffic Stop

DUMAS – March 27, 2019 – Dumas Police, with the assistance of a Texas Department of Public Safety K9 unit, seized 8 pounds of marijuana on Friday and arrested two people. A vehicle was travelling through Dumas from Colorado and was stopped for speeding in a school zone according to a statement released by the Dumas Police Department.

“On 3-27-2019, Officer Torres stopped a rental car from Oregon for speeding in a school zone, the vehicle was travelling [sic] through Dumas from Colorado. The two occupants in the vehicle were arrested for possession of marijuana. They had 3 black duffel bags containing sealed foil bags containing marijuana. The total weight of marijuana was 8 lbs. Officer Torres was assisted by Sgt. Gonzales of the Dumas Police Dept. and Trooper Blacksher of Department of Public Safety. Trooper Blacksher assisted with the use of his K9 Netti. Good job guys with keeping our streets drug free.”
